Operations Manager

As the impact of climate change on the insurance industry intensifies, FutureProof’s AI-based projections of losses from hurricanes and floods are powering a new generation of insurance underwriting.

FutureProof is seeking an Operations Manager to be a crucial member of the team building our digital MGA platform. The platform will underwrite near-instantly based on FutureProof’s uniquely granular catastrophe pricing and portfolio optimization model. We are a small team with a big vision: to create climate-smart insurance products to help close the coverage gap and motivate investment in climate adaptation.

Manager, Insurance Product

The Insurance Product Manager will be a member of the Insurance team at FutureProof. In this role, you will be responsible for putting together property insurance products from initial inception to launch, including rates, forms, and underwriting, as part of FutureProof’s fully-digital, algorithmic underwriting platform. Your work will be pivotal to shaping FutureProof’s business model.

About You

You are an experienced property insurance product manager and have worked extensively on defining and executing product strategy. You thrive on the ownership of full product launches, while influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving data-driven business decisions. You demonstrate tenacity, resilience, and leadership, enabling you to organize and lead projects, overcome challenges, and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

Own features and products end-to-end, defining requirements, managing roadmaps, and executing toward business goals
Lead research into emerging trends and synthesize into product features
Collaborate with actuarial and engineering teams to design and refine insurance rating algorithms that accurately price risks
Research and analyze rate filings, coverage forms, and product strategies to identify opportunities and positioning
Monitor and interpret market trends, regulatory developments, and data to guide product innovation and strategy
Use qualitative and quantitative data analysis to communicate product vision internally and externally
Work cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, and business development colleagues

Requirements

4+ years of experience as a property insurance product manager, driving significant cross-organizational projects
Able to balance attention to detail with speed of delivery
Creative thinking paired ability to meet deadlines
Comfort with the rapidly changing business needs typical of a fast-growing company
Experience in insurance or insurtech with a focus on property products including development and rating methodologies
Demonstrated quantitative abilities
Able to quickly assess and understand complex systems
High EQ, verbal communication, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Product experience at an early-stage company
Experience with regulatory filing processes and market intelligence gathering
Passion for data-driven products, as well as rapid prototyping and testing
